Translation of programs

The translation of programs requires deep technical understanding in addition to linguistic know-how.

Translated texts have to be correctly integrated into the program, and the program also has to be adapted linguistically, e.g. when it is enhanced. If the right structures are introduced, translations into further languages can be effected at little cost.

Programs are returned in a tested and runnable state provided they were runnable before the translation. The development and/or adaptation of existing unit tests (z.B. JUnit) to accommodate the translation is normally included in the delivery. Vimia undertakes the following translation tasks amongst others:

  • internationalisation (I18N)
  • localisation (L10N)
  • adaptation of test cases
  • translation GUI texts
  • proofreading and revision of GUI texts

Vimia supports primarily the translation of Java and C programs. Other programming languages (e.g. C++, Objective C, Ada) can also be supported. SQL and XML databases can also be translated.
